Hunter Perrin's Ebook Maker
|
With Ebook Maker, you can compile a whole website into one program to distribute freely. Instead of learning whole new languages and buying expensive compilers, just stick to the basics and get the Ebook Maker. A powerful convergence of convenience and functionality.
Ebook Maker creates a server on the clients computer that only connects to itself. This means that the security of the client's machine is not compromised while the viewer program is running.
The interface of the viewer program is not cluttered with icons and logos so you can use what you design for navigation. However, if you choose, you can activate the navigation bar.
OS: Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP.

K2pdfopt
|
K2pdfopt optimizes the format of PDF and Djvu files for viewing on small (e.g. 6-inch) mobile reader and smartphone screens such as the Kindle's. It is meant for text-based files on a white background which may also have graphics or figures. It is fully automated and can batch-process PDF files. K2pdfopt works by converting each page of the PDF file to a bitmap and then scanning the bitmap for viewable areas (rectangular regions) and cutting and cropping these regions and assembling them into multiple smaller pages without excess margins so that the viewing region is maximized. Any kind of PDF file (best if it has a primarily white background) can be converted. K2pdfopt works especially well on two-column PDF files such as IEEE and other technical journal articles (see examples below--it auto-detects two-column regions on the PDF page), but even single-column files will often be significantly improved and much easier to read (see examples). K2pdfopt has the advantage over other PDF converters in that it fully preserves the rendered PDF fonts and graphics from the original file, unlike programs that convert the PDF to an e-book format. Also, because k2optpdf is completely independent of language or fonts, it will work equally well on documents in any language.
Just drag and drop your PDF file icon onto the k2pdfopt icon to convert it.
Runs under Win32/64, Linux

Kindelabra
|
Kindelabra lets you create, edit, and sort your books into collections on your Amazon Kindle.
I adore my Kindle 3 and have no less than rediscovered my passion for reading since getting mine, but managing collections is an absolute chore because you need to add books one by one, page by page, a tedious process at best. Collections are similar to folders on your computer except that the same copy of a book can be part of more than one collection at the same time.
Browsing my Kindle after I’ve organized all my books into collections is great, but getting the books into those collections is the difficult part… until now.
Features:
- Create, rename, and delete collections
- Add multiple books to multiple collections at once
- Delete multiple books from a collection
- Backs up your collections automatically (stored in the “system” folder)
- Load backed up or saved collections
- Supports manga exported using Mangle
- Runs on Linux and Windows
Kindelabra is released under the Creative Commons GPLv2 License

Kindle Collection Manager
|
The Kindle Collection Manager (KCM) is a Windows application which allows you to manage collections of eBooks on your Amazon Kindle device.
The app was built using Windows 7 64bit and targets the .Net Framework 4 Client Profile (which is a smaller cut-down version).
The app has two panels. The left panel shows all compatible files and folders already on your device in it's "documents" folder. The right panel shows any existing collections and their contents.
A new collection can be created from a folder. All compatible files in the folder will be added automatically to the new collection.
Files and folders can be dragged from the left panel to the right. If a folder is dragged, a new collection will be created. If a file is dragged, it can be dropped into an existing collection.
Files can exist in multiple collections, but not more than once in the same collection.
An existing collection can be renamed or deleted.
When you're happy with your collections, you can commit the changes to your device.

Kindle Previewer
|
Kindle Previewer is a tool that emulates how books display on Kindle devices and applications. Kindle Previewer makes it easy to preview the layout of a book and make sure its text displays properly for any orientation or font size. This tool is recommended for publishers, eBook conversion companies, and individual authors in combination with KindleGen to produce the highest quality Kindle books. It is available for both Windows and Mac OS X platforms.
After installation in Windows 7, users might get a pop-up saying "This program might not have installed correctly". Users can safely cancel that pop-up and Kindle Previewer would run fine.
