When you type in the windows run dialog "calc"(for example), Windows know which program to execute because it has in the registry the link associated with the word "calc"(usually windows/system/calc.exe). AppSwat

AppSwat is a process viewer and terminator. It shows a list of all running programs on a computer and lets the user terminate any process unconditionally. This is especially useful for Win9x based systems: On NT based systems like Windows 2000 or XP the built in task manager has quite some control over processes. On Windows 9x/ME it often fails to shutdown programs or even display their presence.

Slawdog AquiMem is a small utility for Windows 95-XP that allows you to defragment your system's physical memory. Have you ever noticed that it is nearly impossible to keep your computer running over a week without a crash or system slowdown occuring? Defragmenting RAM is necessary to keep the operating system stable and healthy without the constant need to reboot.
Slawdog AquiMem's purpose is to regain that lost memory and make it available to the application again. This is done by instructing the operating system to remove portions of unused memory and relocating it to the hard drive swap file. This will not slow down your computer, however, since the memory was lost to begin with, so it won't require retrieval.

ARen does not make it easier to rename a single file, but when you have alot of files, you can use ARen to rename all the files in no time. The seven different methods make ARen a strong batch renamer. The methods are: NewName (includes TAGs), NewCase, Remove, List, Replace, Add and Attributes. It is also possible to test the renaming before actually renaming the files.
