All #1-TuffTEST products are unique in their approach because they have their own proprietary boot-loader and
operating system. Simply turn off the target PC, put the Program Diskette into Drive A and then turn on the target PC. It will boot the target PC and thoroughly test its basic hardware without interference from the target PC's native operating system.

3D BenchMark VGA

This software has been placed into the public domain to establish a reference point for comparing the performance of PC compatible VGA systems. The 3D benchmark is arrived at by timing one cycle of a continuous 3-dimensional demonstration and then calculating the average number of screen updates the computer system has achieved in one second (frames per second - fps). The higher the benchmark, the greater the performance.
The benchmark is dependant on a number of factors. These include:
- the processor type (eg 80286, 80386, 80486)
- the speed of the processor
- the speed of the memory
- the use of cache memory
- the internal architecture of the PC
- the bus size of the VGA card (8 or 16 bit)
& the efficiency of the VGA card.
This software can be used to compare the performance of similar VGA computer systems when making a buying decision. It can also be used by hardware manufacturers to provide a continuous display during exhibitions or for shop window displays. It may also be bundled with hardware purchases.
