Asterisk Logger

Many applications, like CuteFTP, CoffeeCup Free FTP, VNC, IncrediMail, Outlook Express, and others, allows you to type a password for using it in the application. The typed password is not displayed on the screen, and instead of the real password, you see a sequence of asterisk ('****') characters. This utility can reveal the passwords stored behind the asterisks in standard password text-boxes.
Asterisk Logger is a successor of AsterWin utility. It reveals the asterisk passwords in the same way as AsterWin utility, but it has some advantages over the previous utility:
- You don't have to press a button in order to reveal the asterisk passwords. Whenever a new window containing a password box is opened, Asterisk Logger automatically reveals the password inside the password-box, and add a record to passwords list in the main window of Asterisk Logger.
- Asterisk Logger displays additional information about the revealed password: The date/time that the password was revealed, the name of the application that contains the revealed password box, and the executable file of the application.
- Asterisk Logger allows you the save the passwords to HTML file and to 3 types of text files.

What may this be good for, you may ask...
Well, you may want to release from the Clipboard e.g., a huge image that may unnecessarily bind your system resources thus decreasing the amount of RAM available on your PC, but even more importantly, you may use it as a security add-on to increase the safety of your data and your privacy. How?
Just imagine a scenario that you log into your Hotmail account and Copy-Paste into its input box your long, complicated (and safe) password using Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V keys (many people do that, surprisingly). As soon as you do this, your password is loaded into the memory of that PC and in case it has not been restarted it will remain there even for many hours, until... you Cut or Copy any other information into the Clipboard, automatically replacing the previous one. But what may happen if you just check your mail and leave, allowing another user to use that PC? You probably guess it by yourself by now - if this user presses Ctrl+V keys in any text editor... your password will be displayed on screen and compromised. The same applies to any other textual or graphic information that might have been Cut or Copied into the Clipboard - if you like, an entire business, legal or other sensitive or personal letter or other documentation, bank account data etc., that should have been kept private and confidential.
And here's when the AutoClipClear comes to the rescue. Just execute this tiny formless applet and the Clipboard is immediately cleared! AutoCrypt is a powerful and extremely easy to use encryption program, that allows you to safely encrypt your sensitive files and folders with an encrypted password, so only you can access them. AutoCrypt hardly increases file size ensuring your files remain portable and protected. You can take an encrypted file to any computer with AutoCrypt, decrypt and work on it, then encrypt it again. Folder encryption is supported through the use of Cintel's STUF packaging format.
Using randomly generated cipher keys, there are infinite ways to keep your files safe, and away from prying eyes. In the near future we plan to add the facility for self-extracting encrypted files. This will allow files to be decrypted by someone with the correct password on any computer, even if they don't have AutoCrypt installed.
