BitSqueez

BitSqueez is a bitmap compressor/cabinet program. It is a simple program not intended to compete seriously with the 'industrial strength' file compressors. However it is a little different, being designed only for creating and handling compressed bitmap cabinet files. Compression is often better than many general purpose 'zip' programs and decompression reasonably quick. However it does depend on the color complexity of the bitmap.

Bitstrip

A simple animated GIF-to-BMP filmstrip application.
Supports most GIF types, even ones with local color tables. Both horizontal and vertical BMP filmstrips may be saved. Does not support large GIFs with a large number of frames (the application will eventually use up all of the Window's graphics resources).

BK Colour Coder

BK Colour Coder is a small SmileWare program (every time you use it, you have to smile for the rest of the day) designed for Windows 95 / NT. It lets you specify colours for all the standard elements in an HTML document. It also allows you to specify a background image to be used, and various browser-specific tags.

You can start from scratch, or you can import the colours and other attributes from an HTML document you already have made. You can easily manipulate the colours and attributes to your specifications - pick from a pre-defined colour pallet, or specify the red, green and blue values individually. While editing the colours, the equivalent HEX value is always visible and ready to be copied to the clipboard for use as you please, which makes the program a fast and handy RGB to HEX colour converter. Once you have finished setting all the colours and attributes you desire, the resulting HTML body code is available to view and copy to the clipboard. Alternatively, you can export the code to an HTML file. If the HTML file already exists, BK Colour Coder will simply comment out the old body code and replace it with the new one. If the file doesn't exist, the program will create a file with the new body code in it.

BlastViewer provides a graphical user interface comprising a hits table viewer, an HSP map viewer and a colour-enhanced sequence alignment viewer. In addition, the software allows you to retrieve entries from public databases for every hit sequence listed in the BLAST reports. Finally, BlastViewer is capable of opening and handling multiple BLAST files, allowing you to analyse and compare more data quickly.
