AmplifX
The main purpose of AmplifX is to search through a collection of primers, such as any molecular biologist has in his refrigerators, to find those which can be use to amplify a fragment into a target sequence, for example, and particularly, to design strategies to screen recombinant clones by PCR. Some information is associated with each primer; some automaticelly computed by AmplifX (like TM, Quality, length) and others given by the user (name, comments,...) This allows general aspects of primer management (sequences and real tubes). AmplifX can also design new primers

Analytical Eye Typing Tutor
Typing Tutor is designed to help develop touch typing skills. It uses a series of exercises, which can be customised. Originally designed for use in Schools and colleges it is a developed program which is capable of running on Networks and standalone PC's Typing Tutor is Analytical Eye Technologies first product. It was originally written for use only at Great Sankey High School to replace an old program which was unable to run under Windows 95. Version 1.01 was the first really version, and this was never made public. It was later in versions 1.5 that the product had it's first public showing. Since then there has been one major update to Typing Tutor, version 1.6.3 is the current version. Since it first release Typing Tutor has amazed me. The program has had close to 100,000 downloads in just over 1 year, and this rate of take up does not seem to be slowing. Os: 32 bit of Windows 95/98/NT4/ME/2000/XP

Anki
Anki is a program designed to help you remember facts (such as words and phrases in a foreign language) as easily, quickly and efficiently as possible. To do this, it tracks how well you remember each fact, and uses that information to optimally schedule review times. With a minimal amount of effort, you can greatly increase the amount of material you remember, making study more productive, and more fun.
Anki is based on a theory called spaced repetition. In simple terms, it means that each time you review some material, you should wait longer than last time before reviewing it again. This maximizes the time spent studying difficult material and minimizes the time spent reviewing things you already know. The concept is simple, but the vast majority of memory trainers and flashcard programs out there either avoid the concept all together, or implement inflexible and suboptimal methods that were originally designed for pen and paper.
While Anki can be used for studying anything, it also ships with special features designed to make studying Japanese and English easier: integrated dictionary lookups, missing kanji reports, and more. Sample decks are also provided for Russian.
Anki's scheduling algorithm is based on the proven SM2 SuperMemo algorithm. It improves upon the basic SM2 algorithm by adding features like priorities and a revision queue sorted in order of priority.

AnswerCoach
You know it. The next examination queues and there are a lot of things which up till now only can be found on the papers. However, they should be in your head! You have already often run through the points, but you notice that it is rather the order of the points than the content, you remember. You do not read the questions any more, because you know the answers.
If in this case you do not want to ask your friends and acquaintances again, only one helps: The AskingCoach from Stefan Trost! Prepare your Question List and start the tool! The AskingCoach presents the questions by chance as long as you can answer them. After every question you can decide if this question can be answered correctly or if the AskingCoach should ask it once again.

AntConc
AntConc started out as a relatively simple concordance program, but has been slowly progressing to become a rather useful text analysis tool. The program can run under any windows environment including Win 98/Me/2000/NT and XP, and also Linux.
AntConc contains the following tools that will be explained separately.
- The **Concordance** tool generates concordance lines (or KWIC: key word in context) lines from one or more target texts chosen by the user.
- Generating concordance plots can be achieved using the same actions as when using the **Concordance** tool. However, the **Concordance Plot** tool offers an alternative view of concordance lines.
- At any time a target file can be viewed in its original form using the **File View** tool.
- The **Clusters** tool is used to generate an ordered list of clusters that appear around a search term in the target files listed in the left frame of the main window.
- The **N-Grams** tool is used to generate an ordered list of n-grams that appear in the target files listed in the left frame of the main window. N-grams are word n-grams, and therefore, large files will create huge numbers of n-grams.
- The **Collocates** tool is used to generate an ordered list of collocates that appear near a search term in the target files listed in the left frame of the main window.
- The Word List feature is used to generate a list of ordered words that appear in the target files listed in the left frame of the main window.
- In addition to generating word lists, AntConc can compare the words that appear in the target files with the words that appear in a 'reference corpus' to generate a list of "Keywords", that are unusually frequent (or infrequent) in the target files.
