Well, retype no more. A complete conversion is just a few clicks away. DB Mail Director

Sometimes it is necessary to create and send a set of e-mail messages, but each of these messages differs from each other only in minor detail. For example, when you want to wish Merry Christmas to all of your clients or partners. Also usually the company has the database with partner's contact information (or at least it would be easy to create one). In such case, the best option is the DB Mail Director program.
Firstly, you should create a message template, which includes special tags. Such tag contains either a field name from the existent database, or a logical expression with a Boolean field, any other field and static text. For example, a letter template may begin with such string: "Dear {{PARTNER_NAME_USE ? PARTNER_NAME : [[Sir or Madam]]}}!". So, for data row which field "PARTNER_NAME_USE" is true, and field "PARTNER_NAME" is "Mr. Jackson" the message begins with string "Dear Mr. Jackson!" but if "PARTNER_NAME_USE" = false, the first line will be "Dear Sir or Madam!"
The template may be used also for creating any other message parameters. Usually the parameter "Send To" will be "{{PARTNER_MAIL}}". The user has the option of defining any Boolean field, and indicating that for this row the message should be sent, as well as there may be a field which contains time of row creation, modifying and last message sent. Of course, user interface allows created message preview. A message template text can be written as plain text & also Rich Text Format (HTML).
There is a free version of DB Mail Director.

DbxConv

This program will extract the messages from an Outlook Express (5.0 - 6.0) mailbox and convert it either to the standard mbox or the Outlook Express eml format. The advantage of saving your mail in mbox format is, that it's a plain text format, which can be read by many mail-clients. Converting to eml format is a convenient way to re-import the messages into Outlook Express.
The handling of eml export is a little bit smarter than the one offered by Outlook Express itself. Outlook Express will overwrite messages with same sender and subject, while DbxConv enumerates the messages, so you can be sure none is lost due to conversion.

Set the default email client on a per-user basis - Windows XP
Windows XP does not provide you an option to set a per-user default
email client. One setting affects all users, machine-wide. See MS
article titled: Unable to Set Different E-Mail Programs for Different
Users
This utility allows you implement a per-user default mail client. Out
of the following three aspects, the mailto: handler can be set as
per-user default, using this utility.
- A mailto: Uniform Resource Identifier (URI).
- Programs that make Messaging Application Programming Interface
(MAPI) calls.
- The Send Page by E-Mail command in Internet Explorer.
This utility 'DefaultMail' helps you set the default email client on a
per-user basis using the method described in this site. As you learn
from that URL, only the mailto: handler is overridden. In addition,
this utility helps you register the default email client in Windows XP
New Start Menu, on a per-user basis.
Upon starting up this utility, it enumerates the list of email clients
installed in your computer. The information is taken from the registry
and populated into the list box. Once selected an item in the list box,
the 'Options' frame will be enabled and the two checkboxes are
available.
- Register the selected mail client with XP's Start Menu
- Register the selected mail client as the default (Current user
profile only)
Select the appropriate checkboxes and click 'Apply'.
Only the HKEY_CURRENT_USER setting is modified by this utility.

This demo program allows to add the toolbar into Outlook Express. In the archive you may find only binary files without source code. Just unpack archive and run MainProg.exe. Then, start Outlook Express and you will see this toolbar.

Dev4U MultiMail

You can use the Dev4u Multimailer to send an email message to a list of people all at once. Once received, your contacts can only see their own email address and are totally unaware, that the message was a bulk emailing event. This feature is important, as it protects privacy of the individuals on your list. Furthermore, the Dev4u Multimailer allows you to add an attachment to your message. You can load the list of contacts from a *.txt file and you can resave it to a *.txt file. To make the program even more usable you can save your settings and reload them again later. Everything is well explained and easy to use. As example of possible settings is given. If you click on the Info Button, every single step is explained. If you move the mouse over a step, the necessary information pops up
The Dev4u Multimailer is avaliable in english and german.
