Avi2mpg1
Avi2mpg1 is a command line based program. It is a general purpose mpeg 1 encoder for encoding a wide range of input video resolutions. Basically a combination of the MSSG video encoder, the ISO audio encoder, and Christoph Moar's mplex system stream encoder, all available or referenced at www.mpeg.org. It was originally released in 1997 as a freeware alternative to commercial encoders available at that time. It has been enhanced by various contributors since then to include numerous new features and enhancements. Also included is a beta version of a GUI wrapper to make it easier to use from Windows. If using a command line program doesn't scare you off, you should find this useful. Being a command line based program, you probably shouldn't try using this unless you are comfortable with operating in a dos box, or have someone nearby who can help you. If you don't know what the command line is, you definitely shouldn't try using this.

avi2vcd
Did you buy a CD burning package with the intention of making VideoCD's, only to find out when you get it home that it doesn't come with an encoder to turn your avi files into mpeg files so you can actually make VideoCD's? Then avi2vcd is what you need. Avi2vcd is an mpeg encoder with only one purpose: Encoding VideoCD 2.0 compliant mpeg streams. Avi2vcd can create all 3 valid VideoCD streams: FILM (23.976 fps), PAL (25 fps), and NTSC (29.97 fps). The horizontal resolution must be 768 pixels or less, the vertical resolution must be 576 pixels or less. Audio need not even be present, and if it is, can be stereo or mono, 8 or 16 bit, and any of the following sample rates:

       8, 11.025, 12, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1, or 48 KHz.

(as long as the audio is NOT compressed, if it is, use the utility "decompress.exe" included to convert to uncompressed audio first).

If your source video is longer than can fit on one CD, than avi2vcd can split it into multiple .mpg's during encode. It can also shut your PC down for you when it's finished encoding.

AVI2WAV Extractor
Extract sound from AVI animation and save it to a WAV file AVI to WAV is a simple program which can extract sound from AVI file (both types: video+audio or only audio AVI files) and save it into a WAV RIFF file in original sound format. It creates file by extracting a sound chunks from AVI animation. File will be created with its original parameters and in original format. This version of AVI to WAV can inform you about audio format of future WAV file - it can diverse large number of specific audio codecs registered within the WAVE registry and generaly used in AVI animations - from PCM, DSP True Speech, GSM 6.10 up to MPEG-Layer 3 (used in DivX AVIs) and more ... Note that you don't need to have installed any of that codecs to extract sound from AVI because AVI to WAV does not use any codec to extract sound - it uses its own algorithm to do that so it can do the job even when other codec-oriented extractors fails. For formats that cannot be detected, AVI to WAV will also create correct audio file using original format from AVI. Before you extract sound, you can preview selected AVI file. Also, when AVI is selected, you can see short info about its size, video resolution, does it contains audio and in what format etc. ... AVI to WAV supports extraction from one selected AVI, from several AVIs automatically (batch mode) and using simple batch scripts for batch extracting. You can select "Normal" or "Smart" extraction (usefull for users who experience problems with repeated audio within resulting WAV). Also, here is 32-bit comand line version that can be used from BATCH files or some other automatization process.

AVIDiag
AVIDiag is an utility that allows you to get an additional information about your system, related to video capture, editing and playback. You may need it before you contact AM Software customer support team. Of course you can use AVIDiag for your own needs at no charge, when you solve your problem, excluding the business environment. In other words, you shouldn't offer an ad-ware (or other non-free) online help desk based on AVIDiag's check results. AVIDiag tests some system capabilities and generates a report that can be written to a text file. Also AVIDiag creates a file dump (in general, an avi file dump) and recognises few common codecs. This allows you to avoid sending huge avi files by e-mail to the support team - just send a dump file instead
