aGNeS
|
aGNeS stands for "Arborescent Global News eLiTe System". Moreover, it is a Bulletin Board Message System , a specialized software that allows to manage independent on-line message forums, allowing for threaded discussions.
The essence of a conferencing system, is that it must allow users to read text messages in a forum and add messages to the forum. A forum is a place where people come together to discuss some topic.
aGNeS is a CGI-compliant application and requires a web server, such as Apache or IIS, to function. It is not an ISAPI/WAI filter or extension.
To successfully install and run aGNeS, a compatible operating system is required. Currently aGNeS is supported under all flavors of Linux (x86 and Alpha), Sun Solaris (Sparc and x86), FreeBSD, SGI IRIX and more. aGNeS is also built for Windows NT and takes advantage of recent Windows 2000 improvements. aGNeS will also run under Windows 95 or Windows 98.
Note: You find the downloads under "Distribution Directory".
