"AWhois" simply stands for "another whois".It is a simple whois-client that establishes a TCP connection to any of the servers supplied by the application.It supports servers which comply with the RFC 954 rules.
Currently the application supports 230 servers all over the world:
- .com 20 servers
- .edu 50 servers
- .gov 16 servers
- .org 1 server
- .net 25 servers
- .mil 2 servers
- .ac - .za 116 servers
In order to make the program run you need at least a 386 CPU, 8 MB RAM ,a mouse and of course a modem and an internetaccount. As operating system at least Windows 95 or WindowsNT 3.51 is required. You also need to have Winsock 2.0 installed on your system.
This program is freeware,but not public domain.
