ABee : An alternative approach to estimating the parameters of a length-weightrelationship from length-frequency samples and their bulk weights
During demersal trawl and similar surveys, there is often time to measure the fish of successive length-frequency samples (L/F), and to weight these samples, but not to weight individual fishes. A method is presented to estimate the parameters a and b of length-weight relationship of the form , given L/F's, and their weight; the iterative approach it requires is implemented in form of ABee, a small Microsoft Windows program available from the authors.
